Predators, Panthers, and Blues remain interested in veteran winger, Chris Neil

Veteran winger, and well known “tough guy”, Chris Neil seems to be drawing interest from three teams; Nashville, Florida, and St. Louis. It was known throughout the day today that Ottawa remained in the mix to bring Neil back home, however an Ottawa source, Murray Pham, has told me the the Senators are now out of the mix. “Unless things drastically change”, Neil will be leaving Ottawa, per Pam. He also mentions that Neil’s best friend, Mike Fisher, could be a key contributor to the final destination for the power forward. Murray tells me that Neil is looking to play casual 4th line minutes, about 7-10 per game. He mentions he could possibly see Neil being a fit in St. Louis due to the loss of 4th liner, Ryan Reaves. (This seems to be the thought amongst St. Louis media outlets as well.) The 38 year old winger is certainly on the downside of his career, but he can still provide valuable leadership in the locker room, as well as knowing his role better than anyone on the ice.
