The Blues are set to play their second game of the year, and first at home, tonight against the Dallas Stars.
The Blues will be looking to go 2-0-0 on the young season, after defeating Pittsburgh a few nights ago. Meanwhile, Dallas is going to be itching to rebound after a disappointing 2-1 loss last night to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Tonight’s line up for the Blues will be the same as the lines they iced against the Penguins. Meaning it’s only game two and Mike Yeo is already irritating fans by putting Chris Thorburn in the line up.
There were a lot of positives from game one, and there were a few negatives as well, a lot of which came from the lackluster play of Thorburn. It was clear why he was in the line up against Pittsburgh, as former Blues tough guy, Ryan Reaves was in the line up. There isn’t a tough guy in the line up for Dallas tonight. Here is who Dallas is deploying tonight.
Jamie Benn – Tyler Seguin – Alexander Radulov
Mattias Janmark – Jason Spezza – Brett Ritchie
Devin Shore – Martin Hanzal – Tyler Pitlick
Antoine Roussel – Radek Faksa – Adam Cracknell
John Klingberg – Esa Lindell
Marc Methot – Jamie Oleksiak
Dan Hamhuis – Stephen Johns
Kari Lehtonen will start for the Stars.
Ken Hitchcock makes his return to St. Louis since being relieved of his head coaching duties last season. There will be some fire in him to get tonight’s win.
While Lehtonen is Dallas’ back up goalie this year, he has superb numbers against the Blues in his career. He’s 13-6-3 when facing St. Louis with a 2.18 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
Wade Megan and Nate Prosser are expected to be tonight’s scratches barring any last minute changes. Jake Allen will be back between the pipes for Blues.
